KitKat Torokeru Zeitaku Gianduia – Praline

The chocolate equivalent of finding a forgotten tenner in an old coat, a last-minute winner against Chelsea, and free beer. All on the day you win the lottery. Did I mention I could only find these in the discount store where they’re reduced by 50%? Someone’s looking after me.

KitKat Torokeru Zeitaku Kaoru Koucha – Fragrant Black Tea

Back in November, Nestlé released two more flavours in their Torokeru Zeitaku series. The first, Brandy and Orange (last April), was pretty successful, it seems. But then in November they released two editions (Apple and Green Tea) simultaneously, and judging by the fact that they are still on shop shelves now despite being frightfully ‘limited’, one can only assume they didn’t go over too well. Which isn’t altogether surprising.

Consequently, it seems many shops opted not to take the latest two releases, which were nowhere to be found until I found them marked down in a discount store. It’s nice when life works out like this. Two delicious new flavours, and a 50% discount.

The Fragrant Black Tea tastes like a pretty special cuppa too.

KitKat Torokeru Zeitaku Uji Maccha

A green tea all poshed up, along the lines of the exceedingly posh Brandy & Orange from April. Nice, and all that, but these editions are more expensive than the usual jobs.

Haven’t been in the slightest bit impressed with previous apples (shudder), but this is quite an improvement. It’s all relative though, and the scars left by the last one are long lasting.

KitKat Torokeru Zeitaku – Brandy & Orange

Now here’s something – a very special edition KitKat, just as special as the gold-embossed box promises. Two individually-wrapped double-sized fingers filled with brandy cream, the aroma and the flavour of brandy and orange complement each other perfectly. So obviously, despite the gold, this isn’t from Takagi’s kitchen.
